This Audible Exclusive performance features a unique introduction written and narrated by Miriam Margolyes. Recognised as one of Dickens' most accomplished titles, Bleak House has impressed critics and audiences alike since it was first published in 1852. The novel boasts one of the most intelligent and engaging plots in all of English literature and is sure to engage the listener's imagination as it transports us back in time to the seedy, grimy and hazardous streets of Victorian London.

Even though the book could run on at times it’s still stunning and one of the things that made it so special for me was Miriam Margolyes. I forgot it was just one person much of the time and I was able to tell people apart after a short time. I think this is now one of my all time favourite audiobooks. She honestly just killed it.

In a star system dominated by the brutal Vathek empire, 16-year-old Amani is a dreamer. She dreams of what life was like before the occupation; she dreams of writing poetry like the old-world poems she adores; she dreams of receiving a sign from Dihya that one day she, too, will have adventure and travel beyond her isolated moon. But when adventure comes for Amani, it is not what she expects: She is kidnapped by the regime and taken in secret to the royal palace, where she discovers that she is nearly identical to the cruel half-Vathek Princess Maram.

Absolutely beautiful narration. I was having trouble with the physical book because I’m just terrible with languages and I just knew I was butchering this world and it was killing me because the writing is beautiful. So audiobook is gonna help right? I couldn’t have guessed that it was going to completely change everything. Rasha Zamamiri absolutely killed it with this narration. She brought amazing writing to a whole new level. This book is stunning and I can’t wait for the next one and I’m going to have to listen to this again and again to first of all try and get a handle on the language and also just to listen to a gorgeous book with a truly wonderful narration!

Absolute perfection. Fry gives a wonderful performance and brings Holmes and Watson bounding off the page. His introductions to each book were also fantastic as he shares with us how important Holmes was to him personally and the influences Holmes has on us all collectively. A must have in anyone’s audible library!

Not sure I'd have enjoyed reading this one without the narration. The writing isn't fantastic but it's a lovely narration and definitely added to the experience. I will continue with this trilogy and do it with the narration as I'm not sure I'd enjoy it simply by reading it.
