For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Alistair Urquhart was a soldier in the Gordon Highlanders captured by the Japanese in Singapore. He not only survived working on the notorious Bridge on the River Kwai , but he was subsequently taken on one of the Japanese ‘hellships’ which was torpedoed. Nearly everyone else on board died and Urquhart spent 5 days alone on a raft in the South China Sea before being rescued by a whaling ship. He was taken to Japan and then forced to work in a mine near Nagasaki.

Horrific story that is... The recollection of a humbling story of survival in such harrowing conditions. This man and many like him deserve more than anyone can give. Such stoic attitude when most of today's men would have given up. Truly a strong, brave, Hardy individual. A sad story and a valuable history lesson that will bring a tear to your eye. Thank you for sharing.

This book gets straight down to business. It's simple and straight to the point. My aim was to fill this book with value, no unnecessary words. Why say it in ten words when you can say it in one - Is the philosophy of the book. It's short and direct, but what it lacks in length it makes up with in valuable content. Make sure your journal is to hand as I'm sure you'll find a great idea.
