The peaceful life of a village in Wiltshire is suddenly shattered by a disaster which strikes without reason or explanation, leaving behind it a trail of misery and horror. A yawning, bottomless crack spreads through the earth, out of which creeps a fog that resembles no other. Whatever it is, it must be controlled; for wherever it goes it leaves behind a trail of disaster as hideous as the tragedy that marked its entry into the world. The fog, quite simple, drives people insane.

This is an old horror story. It starts very tame, but soon rises to full speed. It is then fast paced to the end.

I first read a Lee Child book while recovering in hospital. The book was a gift from a fiend. I couldn't put it down. I have read all his books since then, and never been disappointed. This story continues his story-telling skill.
You won't be disappointed.

Very disappointing with a poor plot. These latest series of books , supposedly by Clive Cussler do not live up to the good yarns of his earlier years. L'll not buy any more.

Although I enjoyed the read, the writing style did not convince me that this was solely written by Chris Ryan. I've read many of his books, but this one did not feel quite right. There were, for example, too many references to "blades". There were many other terms included which did not ring true. Still wworth a read though.
