The Himalayas, 1935. Kangchenjunga. Third-highest peak on earth. Greatest killer of them all. Five Englishmen set off from Darjeeling, determined to conquer the sacred summit. But courage can only take them so far - and the mountain is not their only foe. As the wind dies, the dread grows. Mountain sickness. The horrors of extreme altitude. 'Are you happy in your life?' Those are the last words Jason Dessen hears before the masked abductor knocks him unconscious. Before he wakes to find himself strapped to a gurney, surrounded by strangers in hazmat suits. Before the man he's never met smiles down at him and says, 'Welcome back, my friend.' In this world he's woken up to, Jason's life is not the one he knows. His wife is not his wife. His son was never born. And Jason is not an ordinary college physics professor but a celebrated genius who has achieved something remarkable. Something impossible.

If you could sum up Dark Matter in three words, what would they be?

Interesting multiverse theory.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Amanda. I would love to find out what happened with her.

Have you listened to any of Jon Lindstrom’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Haven't but would do as he was a good narrator.

Any additional comments?

I really liked this story and would have loved for it to go on more about the different universes.

I did feel it got a bit repetitive in the end and found myself rolling my eyes a bit every time Jason talked about how much he loved his wife and how wonderful they were together.

The unanswered questions about Amanda would make a great second part of this book.

All in all, an interesting story.

Here are the rules. Method: you can't use a gun. You can't use explosives. You can't use poison. It has to be up close and personal. You don't have to worry about leaving evidence; that will be taken care of. Victim: no one suicidal. No one over the age of 65. No one with a terminal illness. Choose your method. Choose your victim.

Where does Kill Someone rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's high up there, this author/narrator team can't be beat.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Klaus. We are never given any background on him but the way he acts gave him a rich personality. I have formed an entire story in my head about who he is and why he does what he does.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Can't say - spoilers :)

Any additional comments?

As my review title says, another hit. I really enjoyed listening to this and have many of Luke's books on audio that I enjoy as well, my favorite being The Stone Man. As to the dilema in the book, I think I have one or two people who would be on my list if I were in the situation that Chris finds himself in ;)

Nobody knew where it came from. Nobody knew why it came. When an eight-foot-tall man made of stone appears in the middle of a busy city center one July afternoon, two-bit (and antisocial) reporter Andy Pointer assumes it's just a publicity stunt. Indeed, so does everyone else...until the Stone Man begins to walk, heading silently through the wall of the nearest building, flattening it, and killing several people inside as a result.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would highly recommend this audiobook. I have a very boring, repetitive job and I need any distraction I can find to get thru the day. This book took me into another world, much like the characters when they go into the OASIS. Wil Wheaton was just a wonderful choice of narrator.

My only problem with this book was that it had to end. Please Mr. Cline, I need a sequel!!
