As the owner of Quinn's - an exclusive Mayfair antiques shop - John Mannering had purchased the Adalgo mainly out of curiosity. It had come to be known as a "blood diamond" as violent death had overcome many of its previous owners. Mannering - alias the Baron - scoffed at the legend but from the moment he acquires it he is beset with misfortune. He becomes the victim of theft, his wife is kidnapped and an old friend is brutally murdered. Could the curse of the "blood diamond" be coming true?

Around about September of 1948, Mr and Mrs Cyril Wakeman had an early night. And some time later, at Perivale in Middlesex, Mrs Wakeman produced a bonny baby son. They named him Richard, but he quickly became known as Rick.

Rick was a likable little fellow who had a talent for the piano (and for making trouble), and music became his life. Later, he joined a popular music group called Yes and became a legend.

What a super book.
I bought this on the say so of a friend who read the other one (not in audio).
I was so looking forward to the rendition about Norman Wisdom in the cafe on the Isle of Man, but alas no.
This was just as interesting and funny, and I got some very strange looks when I just burst out laughing while riding the Munich Underground!
The 'Humping Dinosaurs' and the 'Russian Trip' are classic's :-)
I really enjoyed this and will keep a look out for the second volume.
Go buy/listen to it now!

Fresh from Afghanistan, James Bond has been recruited to a new agency. It operates independent of Five, Six and the MoD, with its very existence deniable. Its aim: to protect the Realm, by any means necessary. The Night Action alert calls Bond from dinner with a beautiful woman. GCHQ has decrypted an electronic whisper about an attack scheduled for later in the week. And 007 has been given carte blanche to do whatever it takes to fulfil his mission.

What a cracking book!!
This was one of those that you start listening to and don't stop until the book has ended.

This should make a superb Bond film in the future!

Lots of typical Bond things going on, and obviously he "Saves The World", but it's the way he went about it. Great listen indeed.

Might be me but I just couldn't get into this book. I listened for some 3+ hours in case but eventually I just had to turn it off.
Don't get me wrong. I have enjoyed Billy's books in the past, and his biography is totally wonderful!

This one didn't do it for me,,, but that's only my view.
