more puzzling murders for lestrade to solve. a broken mirror is found on the murdered bodies and he has to figure out the connection between the victims and of course who murdered them and why.
as with all the other books it is well written and performed by m.j.trow.

audible no longer appears to have this title and as I gave up on it after struggling through 6 hours I am not surprised.
the idea was good. three people and the different versions their life could have been. it was the format I had a lot of trouble with. scenario one, followed by two and then three, then back to one again continuously. just as you got interested in one version the other suddenly came on etc., so it became bewildering when you had to leave the story for a day to figure out which david/tim/eva you were listening to.
done as three separate stories it could have been really good.
the performances were good.

once more a well written and performed story.
I was waiting for the content to be in line with what I had watched on tv and it was nothing like it.
initially I found it a bit slow but still enjoyed it. the ending was slightly reminiscent of dennis wheatley stories which I liked.
looking forward to the next story.

I usually like ruth Hamilton books but I didn't like this as much as the others I have listened to. in fact I stuggled to the end because it was a ruth Hamilton book.

there wasn't any humour, which is what I look forward to, and I felt I was being preached to at certain points in the story. opinions were put in the mouths of the characters that didn't ring true in the situation.

please ruth bring back the scouse humour and the grittiness that makes them who they are.

marlene sideway did her usual good job of performing the story.

I had watched the tv adaptation of midwinter of the spirit and enjoyed it.
this book answered a lot of questions raised in the adaptation. why was merily as she was and what had happened to her husband. was she a widow or was she divorced.
well written charcters and well performed by Rebecca lacey I am looking forward to listening to midwinter of the spirit.

good sci'fi story.
