Wonderful listening

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

I am thrilled to have discovered audio books because there is so much more detail apparent when listening than when reading it yourself. Phyllida Nash has done a superb job with her interpretation of the characters - I couldn't stop listening. It was laugh out loud at times. Please sign her up to do more, how about the Grand Sophy - one of my favourites. I have read all the Georgette Heyer novels over the years - several times - however this new dimension is like discovering them for the first time. The Foundling is delightful, and I highly recommend it for first timers to Georgette Heyer.

I am gradually working my way through the Georgette Heyer books and this reading by Sian Phillips is lovely. She brings the characters to life delightfully, and once again I am transported to another period. A dashing heroine, strong hero - what more could I want as I tackle the ironing!!

Can't stop listening

I have read Georgette Heyer's books over and over again but it's not until I listened to them that I realised how much I had missed. The wonderful descriptions of the fashion, and the sense of the period, makes "These Old Shades" a joy - I walked around with it playing all the time - much to my husband's disgust as he kept trying to talk to me!! I am now working my way through the others - and just hope that eventually they will all be available.
