Really enjoyed Bleak Expectations. Well performed and well written. Lots of laugh out loud comedy. Only real let down is the chapter listing. Instead of the usual 1 chapter per episode, we have been given 1 chapter per track That makes it pretty much impossible to trace favourite episodes. Audible could have done better here.

Never been a fan of Alistair McGowan, but his approach to the character of the evil one is first rate. Also like Amis. How Amis behaves as a human resonates with how I perceive my dog.

Love this series. This and Cabin Pressure are 2 of the best series to be broadcast on Radio 4. Charles and Archie are perfect foils for each other, which generates a lot of comedic moments. Josh's upper class stupidity provides further opportunities for Charles and Archie to feed off.
Well worth the money. Such a pity that the other series aren't available.

Good script executed (oops General Venables snuck in there), by an excellent cast. James Fleet is always funny, though sometimes it sounds like he's playing a marginally more intelligent Hugo from The Vicar of Dibley, a role which he is famous for. Andy Hamilton and Hugh Dennis play their characters very well. Well worth the money.

Lessing and Madeley are excellent as Falco and Helena. The adaptation of the original book is well done and the whole seems to have high production values. Well worth owning.

Enjoyed listening to this book. Gives a good insight into the personality and psychology of the composers. The book benefits from having multiple narrators. Would recommend this to anyone who likes classical music and also likes biographies.

struggle to finish. some of the situations were funny but the execution was poor. Capt Wade was irritating, Lt Trainer just wasn't funny at all.
