Loved this book! Excellent narration! Such a diverse and rich range of accents to really bring the diverse and complex characters to life! I could not stop listening! or Laughing out loud - sometimes getting strange looks when people didn't realise I had earplugs in! I can't wait for the next instalment! There will be more from the Worldships series, right??!

Heroic, sad, funny, poignant... Superb.

This book was fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone. Cried for an hour at the end! But most importantly I was inspired and reminded that the human spirit triumphs - all human spirits!

Don't judge this story by the Film!!

I listened to this book purely because Susan Hill wrote it! and I love her Simon Serrailer series!! The book did not frighten me at all - it was nicely suspenseful and kept me listening. But the ending truly brought it all together for me almost like a Jeffery Archer short story. When I saw the film I was disappointed and can only be thankful that I read the book first or I would not have touched it with a bargepole after seeing the film. Saying that, the film diverges from the book so much that even if you have seen it - go and read /listen to the book! It will be just as good because the film does not tell you the real story.

I listened to Entry Island some time ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm please to find that this one was every bit as enjoyable. Thought provoking! Made me really think about my life and the choices I made. A thoroughly good listen!

I didn't like this book at all. A pet hate of mine is when the female narrators try to deepen their voices to read any male narration! It sounds so unnatural. I really didn't like the dead body talking... it was freaky!

Worth a try as they were on sale and I have found so many Scandinavian Authors and books to be excellent, so was bound to get one i didn't like at some point.

What made the experience of listening to The Silence of the Wave the most enjoyable?

Hopefully Mr Carofiglio will continue Roberto's character and develop him like he did for the Guido Guerieri series. Excellent realistically flawed and lovable characters!!

A good story...

Any additional comments?

A disturbing story of Merete's captivity! The detectives are interesting characters, flawed but believable and you want them to suceed. Although this story is set in Finland, the reader, Steven Pacey, uses different accents like welsh, scottish, and various northern accents to bring the different characters humourously to life.
