It is with a heavy heart that I give this book a 1 start review for performance as this is one of my very favourite books, having read this first in German, it is a great shame that the narrator did not feel the need to learn to pronounce the German words even close to correctly. I love this book and I have given the book itself five stars, But I have to leave this as a warning to all those who speak German, please buy the physical book, especially the German translation which includes the original texts. The bad pronounciation brought me put of the story so many times that I've had to repeat sections.

However

If you do not speak german, the narrator was perfectly fine in his delivery of the book for the most part, so go ahead and listen to this. It is a heartbreaking story but one which succeeds in showing the fantastic steadfastness of Dietrich and those around him and many untold truths of the time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Metaxas a few years ago and his humility and willingness to tell the story correctly was what lead me to read this book in the first place, we could not have hoped for a better author.

I struggled to find a process which I was comfortable with to learn Farsi as I would usually rely on the children's books ^ comics ^ novellas ^ novels ^ essays route which is unavailable here. This method works very well in comparison to most others in my opinion, I personally tried to do each module twice a day and finished the course fairly quickly.
I look forward to the next modules

I am bilingual and speak both of my languages to mothertongue level, however have been searching for more languages to tuck under my belt, at least at moderate levels of understanding. This unit began with a conversation which the listener could not have understood, went on to explain and teach the listener to understand, grasp and learn the conversation, not simply sentence by sentence, but by using the words in different sequences and intonations in order to help them come fully to grips with the conversation. By the end, having both listened to and participated in the conversation, the learner knows for certain how much he/she has learnt and can feel confident enough to move on and be proud of what they have achieved.
Very pleased and shall be pursuing the course further.

I have been meaning to read this for some time now but for whatever reason have not gotten around to it. I am so glad I caught this on offer because it has given my week a much needed boost which I would not have had otherwise. I would not have expected anything less from these two, but to say that it surpassed even my greatest expectations would be a severe and criminal understatement.
I very much look forward to continuing with the series.

Rarely does a story come along which brings me to every end of the emotional spectrum, the journey which I was made to traverse in listening to this story battered the senses of my soul as surely as a highstorm brings stormlight.
I could not be more content with the brilliance and beauty of this tale and can not wait for further additions to the storm light archive.

Amazing, as always

Brandon is a genius, if only it wasn't so frustrating waiting to read what he comes out with next! Always worth the wait though.
