What would it take to prove the existence of God? And what would be the consequences? This question and its answer lie at the heart of Absolute Proof, an international thriller from best-selling author Peter James. The false faith of a billionaire evangelist, the life’s work of a famous atheist and the credibility of each of the world’s major religions are all under threat. If Ross Hunter can survive long enough to present the evidence....

Before reading this, perhaps consider whether your beliefs will allow yourself to embrace the story. A shame there are negative views from people who can't or because the story is atypical for Peter James. I loved it.

The nominal king, Edward VI, is 11 years old. His uncle Edward Seymour, Lord Hertford, rules as Protector. The extirpation of the old religion by radical Protestants is stirring discontent among the populace while the Protector’s prolonged war with Scotland is proving a disastrous failure and threatens to involve France. Worst of all, the economy is in collapse, inflation rages and rebellion is stirring among the peasantry.

Sorry, I have to agree with a previous reviewer, the narration is not up to scratch. Having listened to so many great stories and narrators recently, I can't help feeling, for such a high profile book, more care should have been taken with the choice of narrator. If this is the same person that has narrated before, something weird is going on.

Appearances can be deceptive; but the truth is a dangerous thing.... On the night Brian Bishop murdered his wife he was sixty miles away, asleep in bed at the time. At least that's the way it looks to Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, who is called in to investigate the kinky slaying of beautiful socialite, Katie Bishop. Roy Grace soon starts coming to the conclusion that Bishop has performed the apparently impossible feat of being in two places at once.

Bouncing from bed to bed on the Upper East Side, Kingsley Edge is brilliant, beautiful, and utterly debauched. No carnal act or chemical compound can relieve his self-destructive apathy - only Søren, the one person he loves without limit or regret. He plans to open the ultimate BDSM club: a dungeon playground for New York's A-list that'll change the scene forever. The club becomes Kingsley's obsession - and he's enlisted some tough-as-nails help.

What aspect of Elizabeth Hart’s performance might you have changed?

I don't wish to criticise the narrator of the book but just wish Audible had chosen a male narrator who I believe could have brought more realism to the predominantly male characters in the book. I had read the book prior to listening, love this series, but struggled to identify the characters from the female narration.
