I really enjoyed the story. It kept me gripped and wanting to listen till the end. What I didn’t enjoy was Andrew Scott’s narration. It was dreadful and so difficult to engage with. I loved him in Sherlock but he’s terrible as a storyteller.

I was expecting a good story after listening to another book by the author. How wrong! This is just awful. The main character is so annoying and the story too far fetched. It had me cringing throughout. I didn’t enjoy it at all.

I can never watch Vera the TV show because I find it a bit dull and difficult to get into and I don’t gel with the main character. Not this book...I absolutely loved it. Vera’s character is so wry and cynical yet shows a vulnerability too. The narration was excellent throughout and I couldn’t stop wanting to listen. My first read in this series but definitely not my last.

Thoroughly enjoyed this zombie fest. Love the humour that runs throughout and couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Looking forward to starting book 2.

Truly awful narration. On speed 1 she was boring and made me want to claw at my own ears. On 1.5 I couldn't make her out. And what's with the strange background type voice thing? I can't comment on the story because I only got 20 minutes in...couldn't bare listening anymore. Returned.

Bit of a pointless story, really. Didn't enjoy it at all. The narrators use of different voices was grating at times.

Average story, predictable ending. The narrator has the most annoying voice which isn't helped by the variation in character voices. Emma's voice made my toes curl.

Amazing story, amazing narration, just amazing! This is one of the best books I have had the pleasure to listen to. Funny, dark, intriguing, clever - it had me wanting to know what would happen next, continuously. I highly recommend this book.
