Would you consider the audio edition of How Not to Be a Boy to be better than the print version?

N/A

What did you like best about this story?

The honesty. Robert shared all sorts of tales and memories, and didn't shy away from painting himself in any light, some flattering, some not. Some funny, some very sad, some very very very funny.

Which character – as performed by Robert Webb – was your favourite?

N/A

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Absolutely, I was always glad to get in the car or to go to the gym to put in on.

Any additional comments?

I just loved it, my only regret is I couldn't resist listening to it immediately instead of saving it for an upcoming holiday.

What would have made Let Go of Worry, Embarrassment and Regret better?

Alternative narrator. I've given a token 2 stars for story as in truth I really could do much more than dip in and out.

What was most disappointing about Jennifer Alison’s story?

really quite superficial advice in the elements I could manage to suffer due to awful narrator

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Sorrel Brigman?

anyone

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I just thought this would be more interesting, in the end I kept looking at my phone disappointed I still had so much listening time to finish it. In the end I gave up as the narrator / authors voice, for me, was grating.

Has Smoke Gets in your Eyes put you off other books in this genre?

No.

What didn’t you like about Caitlin Doughty’s performance?

Could just be an accent thing, I just found her voice too much, a bit ...vampy / goth teen. I had to stop listening.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Smoke Gets in your Eyes?

n/a

Any additional comments?

Wish I could return this.

Decent content. Awful narration ...for me anyway

Why. the. .....pauses?

Who was your favorite character and why?

How did the narrator detract from the book?

A few times I checked my phone to see if the app had frozen such were the pauses and ultimately had to listed on 1.5x speed. Bad experience all round

What did you like best about Behind Closed Doors? What did you like least?

Best - I'm struggling to be truthful. Least - I just didnt empathise with the main character, she was just too 'wonderful' and 'goody goody' and fabulously clever / thoughtful/ well-off..... and... boring. Thankfully it felt like the author got bored of writing at some point and speedily wrapped it up.

Would you ever listen to anything by B A Paris again?

Based on this it is unlikley

Would you listen to another book narrated by Georgia Maguire?

Not for me

Was Behind Closed Doors worth the listening time?

Sorry, it wasn't the worst, but I did find my self continually checking on how long was left and being a bit exasperated that there was still a chunk of time to go
