This comprehensive series of 84 lectures features three award-winning historians sharing their insights into this nation's past-from the European settlement and the Revolutionary War through the Civil War, 19th-century industrialization, two world wars, and the present day. These lectures give you the opportunity to grasp the different aspects of our past that combine to make us distinctly American, and to gain the knowledge so essential to recognizing not only what makes this country such a noteworthy part of world history, but the varying degrees to which it has lived up to its ideals.

I learnt a lot about the Americans I work with from this book.

I is interesting to get the whole of American history condensed in this way.

the book is by no means an in-depth study, but absolutely invaluable for giving context to why the US is the way it is.

Do you dread work functions? Are you anxious at parties? Avoid networking events? One of the biggest epiphanies I had in life was that social skills are just that...skills. You are no more naturally shy than you are naturally unable to drive a car. You just don't have the practice or guide to teach you. That's where The Alpha Male's Guide to Mastering the Art of Small Talk comes in! Want to be more magnetic, attractive, and able to win friends and influence people? Then look no further!

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her 'our little genius'. Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells.

listened to the first hour any a half and was captured. listened to the rest of the book in one go.
This is epic, the narrative just pulls you along and I just couldn't find a point to stop listening. it's 2:24 am and now I can sleep.

Regarding the story, it's a lovely piece of Science fiction. Love the UK setting, know the places makes it even more special.

And the final 10 min squirmingly good.

The Hunter from the Woods marks the much-anticipated return of Michael Gallatin, the lycanthropic hero of Robert McCammon’s 1989 classic, The Wolf’s Hour. These all-new, interlinked stories offer a full measure of McCammon’s trademark narrative excitement, and comprise a fascinating composite portrait of a unique fictional creation.

Very good
some excellent insight into Michael, and the last 25 minutes were epic terrible and cruel to the reader.
A master class in leaving it hanging.
