The first book left me hanging in a uncomfortable way, despite truly enjoying it.

How ever this books escalation allowed me to truly enjoy this book in ways I have not enjoyed any other book.

Most stories be they TV, Movie or Book tend to be written in such away that tension is built up using negative scenarios like loosing battles or the death of characters. Basically things that I would find unfortunate or negative. Due to progression through negative scenarios I complete the negative parts of a story to reach a short positive ending.

This story how ever the escalation in this book at all times felt overwhelming positive. At no point did I feel agitated or frustrated with the plot, character actions or the direction the author took. There for I did not have suffer through a single chapter.

In short I loved ever chapter of this book which is rare. Don't get me wrong there were tragedies which helped make the story feel realistic.

So thank you Charles for a wonderful book.

Lastly the narration was also top notch thx Kevin.

At first, only a few things are known about the celestial object that astronomers dub Rama. It is huge, weighing more than ten trillion tons. And it is hurtling through the solar system at inconceivable speed. Then a space probe confirms the unthinkable: Rama is no natural object. It is, incredibly, an interstellar spacecraft. Space explorers and planet-bound scientists alike prepare for mankind's first encounter with alien intelligence.

When this book was recommended I did not think the plot could be very interesting. However the reason I rated it so high was how despite the lack of a obvious antagonist. I was on the edge of my sofa the whole time. I was interested in the characters and the world described.

If your interested in the science fiction and humanities potential first steps out of our system give this book a try.
