It’s what the title says. I really can’t thank Pete enough for putting out such an easy to understand, informative book. Great for Irish and English people.

At the start I really didn’t know what to make of it, but about a quarter of the way in I got hooked.

It’s a clever take on the traditional tale of dog/human relationship, and I was saddened when it ended as I could’ve listened to the tale forever. It’s beautifully told with a great narrator.

I often listened to this while walking my own Staffie, Sam, which somehow made the story all the better.

Just beware, if you think it won’t hit you in the feels because it’s that same old Hollywood tale of a dog etc etc.... it’ll get you. It got me as I was driving! I shed a few tears, and then when I arrived at my girlfriends house I was telling her how it caught me off guard and how that section of the book reminded me of a previous dog I had and then I was nearly in tears again!! Stupid book!..... well..... great book actually.

My heart is all the better for listening to this, I think yours will too.

This book teaches you how to identify your smallest viable audience; draw on the right signals and signs to position your offering; build trust and permission with your target market; speak to the narratives your audience tells themselves about status, affiliation, and dominance; spot opportunities to create and release tension; and give people the tools to achieve their goals.

It reads like some teenager was given an assignment to write on a subject they barely knew anything about. It’s just rambling, meaningless waffle. I couldn’t finish it. Also the narrator needs to be speed up to x1.5 to sound like he’s reading at normal speed.

Terrible.

I’ll keep it short, this is no get rich quick book, no false promises, no magic cures. Rob tells you how money works, how people get (and stay) rich... but it’s not easy. You have to either invest in property or start your own business. That’s basically the message of the book, but it’s still I great listen and I will definitely listen to it again.

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

There’s no doubt David is a legend, but for me the book is just not gripping enough. It’s the same thing again and again after you hear about his childhood which is “I wanted to be X and I became X, People thought I was crazy/great”.

He does provide “challenges” so that you can get into a similar mindset and while they are okay I just found it’s beginners self-help stuff that was added as filler. I also didn’t appreciate him encouraging people to post hashtags to promote the book when posting these challenges on social media. David admits he doesn’t care about social media as such, so it’s not like he’ll be checking the hashtags to comment on your story (the man’s too busy anyway!).

I admire David and all his achievements, the chats between him and the main narrator are a nice little bonus. If you want to know more about David then this book is fine, but if you’re looking for something to push you personally, this book didn’t do it for me.
