The year is 1771. Claire Randall is still an outlander, out of place and out of time. But now she is linked by love to her only anchor: Jamie Fraser. They have crossed oceans and centuries to build a life together in North Carolina. But tensions, both ancient and recent, threaten members of their clan. Knowing that his wife has the gift of prophecy, James must believe Claire, though he would prefer not to. Claire has shared a dreadful truth: there will, without a doubt, be a war.

I love this entire series so far,but this instalment was hard going for the most part. It’s a real slow burn with a few exciting incidents thrown in. 70% of the story seemed just ‘stuffing’ then thankfully a snippet of essential information is revealed towards the end! Really hoping book 6 improves. I’ll carry on with it as I just love the characters too much. The amazing narration saved this book for me.

Having read the discworld novels many years ago I wanted to give the audible books a try. I've been in a huge reading slump for a month and couldn't get into anything new so went back to an old favourite which immediately made me smile! The narrator is fantastic but there were some issues with broadcasting quality- it was quite tinny in places. However, it didn't distract from the pure genius of a Pratchett novel, the man had such an incredible skill in wordology there really isn't anyone like him.

I love Cassandra Clare books but this one I can't even finish! The narrator bored me to tears, I couldn't distinguish between the characters because her tone was just monotonous and her reading of the narrative was too fast- it felt like she was rushing through it. Got to chapter 3 or 4? Can't even tell you the names of the characters, nothing seems to happen- where's the interesting opening? Where's the hint of a plot? There's no action so far. Perhaps it gets better further in but I'm afraid I won't be continuing with this audio.

Just call me Mister O. Because your pleasure is my superpower. Making a woman feel "oh god that's good" is the name of the game, and if a man can't get the job done, he should get the hell out of the bedroom. I'm talking toe-curling, mind-blowing, sheet-grabbing ecstasy. Like I provide every time. I suppose that makes me a superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to always deliver.
