Probably the best book with a true level of transparency that any young Christian woman or man needs!
This book has set me free, made me look into my past and even taken up counselling to deal with past hurts and disruptive habits I have used as a way of self help.

Thank you Mo Isom, for having the conversation the church neglects to have.

Life lessons, overcome, strength, tenacity, success, support and being a black woman or a mixed race girl...
Wow, thanks you for sharing your ever so inspirational story. Although the writer is American, I definitely feel a lot of young British black or mixed raced girls can relate.

Although it’s not easy in the UK and opportunities are even more scarce for women of colour, we gotta keep pressing on! I read this book at the right time. Couldn’t stop listening to it. I finished it in a matter of days❤️

Love a Dawn O’Porter book, she never disappoints and great use of narrators. I love that keeps the authentic British stance In her book. Only issue I had was a reference to the Jackson five hair... This comparison caught me right off guard. Borderline racist I would say. She could have simply said/used afro-hair because that what it’s called but to say someone vagina hair looks like Jackson 5 hair was a wack comparison

Great book, intense, culture, sisterhood...

Overall I felt this book was ok, I guess I was a little disappointed with Pastor Stevens delivery With this book it differs a little from his preaching style so I wasn't always able to keep engaged.

But I was definitely able to take something from this book from what I have heard from it although I didn't complete the chapter.

Good book, BUT i’m trying to hold out till the end...

As a reader who absolutely loves books and stories based on African heritage and culture. I'm struggling a bit with this book. There's part in this book that is slightly sluggish and you almost want the scene to end FAST!

I feel this book has a great story, just a little dragged out in certain parts.

The mispronunciation of Yoruba words is also very extremely frustrating to hear. It's worthwhile this audiobook is re-record to really deliver the cultural context of this book and deliver it at its full capacity.

Unfortunately the book wasn't able to keep me engaged enough.
This book seems to be directed go maybe younger readers. From the age of the main characters it seems. However, the story line wasn't able to keep me engaged. Booked returned too boring.

After listening to the author comment, I knew that there had to be some truth to this book, from how well it was constructed. I definitely enjoyed how well the author's creativity and interpretation of events were presented.

The narrators did a fantastic job and helped create and bring the visuals to life.
