Really great content, but the negatives began to make it too hard to enjoy the content. At first, his voice and delivery is clearly overcooked (even for back in the day), but still listenable. Over time though, it gets really grating. The content is 10/10 though, except for the unexpected sales pitches for seminars. It all got a bit much in the end.

In 1991, Gerald Ratner was booked to make what should have been an everyday speech at the Institute of Directors. Should have been. When the word "crap" came out of his mouth in connection with products sold by his company, it all turned out slightly different. The Rise and Fall...and Rise Again tells the full story, in Ratner's own words, of what led him to that point, the horror of the immediate aftermath, the fallout, and the comeback. This is the first time Ratner has given his side of the story. And what a story it is.

Great story from Gerald. Everything kept moving at a good pace, and I do believe his narration helped to get a proper feel for his story.

The audio engineering was a bit suspect, but that was a slight niggle on an otherwise enjoyable AudioBook. Good pearls of wisdom in this too- his sort of experience can teach people a lot!

I think the rave reviews and the fact we're talking about the creator of the famous Nike company here, set the bar a bit high for my expectations.

Felt slow, dull, and boring. If I was in the fashion industry I would listen of course, I'm sure there's a lot to learn.

This is my autobiography. It's not a novel; it's my life story where I want to motivate and influence others. It shows lots of emotion, both highs and lows, how to succeed - it shows how I turned 37p into 100 million pounds. I have dyslexia and ADHD which is highlighted as you listen to the book. Due to this I often get sidetracked and have to go back to the original part of the story; again, this is highlighted.
