Horrified by narrator
Big fan of Karin Slaughter and it was a decent enough story although I felt it didn’t get going until two thirds in. The narration, however, I am in absolute shock. The cartoony voices of just about every male character were bad enough but the entirely offensive “yessum” Bubba-style characterisation of Lena? What??? Horrified. Almost had to stop listening. Firstly, does the narrator even know anything about this character? This is not a South Georgia accent she would have by any stretch of the imagination and honestly I feel it needs to be re-recorded.

Poor accent work and weak story
Why American for the lead? Didn’t seem necessary nor integral to the story and wasn’t the best accent work. Anyone who’s spent any actual time in America, let alone an American, can hear straight and gratingly through this. Story also went nowhere. Disappointing.
