Absolutely loved the trilogy that went before. It ended just as I’d hoped with Darrow and mustang finally together ..
This book was disjointed and predictable.
I just did not enjoy it .
I will buy any new books hoping that Darrow and mustang
Will at least be on the same side along with the hollow eras of course

From the best-selling author who completed Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time series comes a new original creation that matches anything else in modern fantasy for epic scope, thrilling imagination, superb characters and sheer addictiveness. Return to a planet swept by apocalyptic storms, a world tipping into war as aristocratic families move to control the shard blades and shard plates, ancient artefacts from a past civilisation that can win wars.

After throughly enjoying the first two books of the series I was very disappointed with this one . Kaladins story and consequently bridge four were always the spine of the books for me although I did enjoy
The rest.
I found this book messy in terms of the story . Sometimes hard to follow as it jumped around so much . Sanderson is a great fantasy writer but for me he needs to get back to more straight forward story lines

A rags-to-riches tale, Jonah's journey spans the breadth of human experience, from the intricacies of Edward III's political intrigues to the cutthroat world of international trade, from the triumphs of war to the agonies of personal loss - love, friendship, joy, heartbreak and glory. Set largely in London, the Scarlet City, the centre of medieval England, the Scarlet City trilogy is a thrilling portrait of the age and the people who made it so rich, colourful and extraordinary.

Story
Sunday Times and New York Times best-selling author Peter V. Brett brings one of the most imaginative fantasy sagas of the 21st century to an epic close. The war has begun.... For time out of mind, bloodthirsty demons have stalked the night, culling the human race to scattered remnants dependent on half-forgotten magics to protect them. Two heroes arose - men as close as brothers yet divided by bitter betrayal.

First listened to the painted man read by ,peter Joyce ,and
Then the second book in the series some years ago. Absolutely loved them..totally engrossed
10 stars all if I could .....
From then on the story seemed to lose its way as ( it seemed to me ) The Author stretched the story to make 5 novels.
Nevertheless I was excited when the Core arrived....
Sadly I just couldn’t get into it at all . The characters I’d grown to
Love , just didn’t exist any more ..
I very poor ending to a story which showed such early promise.
