I like the Pride and Prejudice variations but can honestly say this was not one of them! Apart from the names used there was no resemblance to Jane Austin's story at all. The voice of the narrator was grating and she couldn't decide if she wanted to be upper class English, American or whatever. A waste of a credit.

What a disappointment! I have only listened up to Chapter 8 and cannot face any more so don't know how the story will unfold. The first chapter sounded like it was recorded on an old portable cassette tape recorder - background noise, the sound of the microphone being switched on and off, no editing of mistakes. Absolutely awful. I wasted one of my credits for this and am so very annoyed. Can I get my credit back?

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the story but had to make myself listen as the narrator was terrible

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The twist in the plot was original but I was always waiting on something exciting to happen

Would you be willing to try another one of Nina Price’s performances?

Did The Whisky Wedding inspire you to do anything?

never listen to anything narrated by Nina Price

Any additional comments?

Why have a none British narrator for a typically British story. It may not have been so bad if she had just read the story but her accents were awful. some of the ladies sounded like "Miss Piggy" and as a Scot myself, her accents for the Scottish servants were a disgrace. A reasonable story really spoilt because of this narrator.
