It started by stealth. At first, no one could see what was happening. By the time the alarm was raised it was too late. Ireland had been seized: a financial assault consolidated by a military one. But as the island is overrun, it’s soon clear that the invaders did not anticipate the fierce resolve of of their Celtic opponents. Nor the determination of the country’s powerful allies to throw out the occupiers....

I was a huge fan of his previous books, sadly in this one the story is just too far fetched and I lost interest.

Liked the fast pace but there are too many plot errors. For example when they are in the special decontamination suits in the plane the cameraman vomits and it can be heard splashing on the floor. If you are in the suit with the helmet and respirator that ain't going to happen!

I also didn't like the way they describe certain nasties like the snake and the piranha etc etc and low and behold five minutes later they appear in the plot.

An exciting storyline but too many errors.

The murderee is Nicola Six, a 'black hole' of sex and self-loathing who is intend on orchestrating her own extinction. The murderer may be Keith Talent, a violent lowlife whose only passions are pornography and darts; or the rich, honourable, and dimly romantic Guy Clinch. And as Nicola leads her suitors towards the precipice, London - and, indeed, the whole world - seems to shamble after them in a corrosively funny novel of complexity and morality.

I have listened to hundreds of audio books but this is a total let down.
