In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

This was a beautifully written / read book. I waited with anticipation when I preordered the audio was not disappointed. This was truly inspiring. As I listened, I experienced a tsunami of varying emotions...joy, laughter, pride, annoyance, hurt, I even cried at times but overall hope, love and appreciation. I was left motivated to keep going and helping others to grow too. I re played certain parts to internalise a message or ponder upon it. In some aspect, surprisingly I felt scales falling off my eyes. I am moved to not only continue to build on my own confidence, vision of my future and helping others, but also to re-examine my past...my history of MY forefathers. I am left recapping my own herstory and the reality of my path today. I felt re-energised.

I have bought the hard copy book too. I have recommended this book to all my friends and especially my daughter, sister, nieces and daughters of my friends. I would recommend the audiobook as Mrs Obama draws you in and captures you with her voice and intonations and takes you on a journey, some of which resembled my own journey and thought processes. I truly felt like I was there living each experience. It was wonderfully presented and I do not believe anyone else could have presented this book other than her.

Thank you, for allowing me into a snippet, yet important, personal and brutally honest journey of your life and your family. I continue to admire your family and having nothing but the utmost respect, love and prayers for you all. God bless, guide and protect you all always.

Your namesake,

Michelle

Always a brilliant listen! I truly enjoyed this series. After viewing the first three films of this series in its original language with English subtitles I was hooked. The fourth and fifth series are equally brilliant and I await the films.

The narrator transported me to be ringside of the events and at times I saw through the eyes of the characters. David Lagercrantz is a brilliant storyteller. I look forward to the next instalment.

Thank you for an enjoyable listen.

Thank you.

Always captivating! I love the attention placed on the details of the different places; I am catapulted directly into the story and can feel every emotion each character is experiencing. I enjoyed the experience of being seated on the luxury jet as well as bouncing over dirt trailed roads in the Mercedes and tumbling along at high speed in the van. I also enjoy listening to Colin Mace who truly brings the characters and places alive.

Thank you both (Scott Mariani and Colin Mace) and your team.

Wow, Kathryn Stockett, Wow!!! I did not see the movie and had this book for awhile. I decided I wanted to listen first before venturing to watch. This book was absolutely mesmerising from start to finish and definitely one would hold its own on a big screen. It felt as though I was watching this story on screen. The narrators truly brought the story alive; they were perfectly chosen. I was transported to Jackson, Mississippi and stood alongside the characters as the story unfolded with a plethora of emotions. The narrators truly captured the essence of each character and the era that the book depicted. Absolutely amazing job Jenna Lamia, Bahni Turpin, Octavia Spencer and Cassandra Campbell!!

It also felt as though I was reading a physical book as opposed to listening and that was magical too. If this was a physical book I would say "it was a brilliant read; very well written; a definite page-turner. You would want to read this book from start to finish in one sitting, it was that good!!". I would definitely recommend this audiobook!!

This was an interesting and insightful audio book. The lessons taught were lessons which transcend all generations. An excellent way to develop a sense of self, confidence and wealth. A great tool to start /enhance an individual's personal development. The earlier the start the more than likely positive returns (spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial). Would definitely recommend!!! I have bought Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow for each of my young adult children.
