Pathological mind games. Covert and overt put-downs. Triangulation. Gaslighting. Projection. These are the manipulative tactics survivors of malignant narcissists are unfortunately all too familiar with. As victims of silent crimes where the perpetrators are rarely held accountable, survivors of narcissistic abuse have lived in a war zone of epic proportions, enduring an abuse cycle of love-bombing and devaluation - psychological violence on steroids.

Survivoring but don't bother thriving because I can't tell you how to do it or I certainly don't in this book

While I definitely recommend this book to anyone who has had a MAGICAL EXPERIENCE the author should have called this book " life is $&&-, after abuse but you can survive don't bother thriving go to yoga and live in misery ignore all abuse of others and if you have been shafted well that's how it is supposed to be " , the author certainly provides some information that is worth reading or Listening to but basically she does prove that old adage " Put Yourself First," in my opinion some of the advice and experience some of the advice about therapy is not only flawed but misleading but perhaps she didn't have a wide enough example or personal experience to know any better and she has no advise on how to fix the problems it has caused just " self care "! What surely self is mentioned way to much in these books and besically she says your life will be shit but let it continue to happen and get some exercise you'll still be miserable but hey ho!

This story is told through the jagged peephole of the author's awareness, examining her formative wounds and influences from the perspective of a woman who has now gained experience and wisdom. As she peers over her soul's shoulder, she recalls the chaos of her once-fragile childhood mind. She shudders as she is reminded of the sting of her lonely childhood, her feelings of abandonment, and her painful memories of being bullied.

THE PERFORMANCE IS BRILLIANT UP TO A POINT AND THEN WELL,

Then Lisa's work becomes almost plastic and makes absolutely no sense . I felt that, however abused LISA had felt in childhood and however much I can sympathize with how very difficult Lisa felt it to break free herself , she had absolutely NO excuse to use and advocate the tactics which are possibly more abusive than any Lisa has suffered herself as a child.

Prior to buying this book

I had listened too and had a great deal of respect for Lisa and thought her professional and extremely well intentioned. But on reading this book I felt Lisa very subtly tries to manipulate her audience into acting and behaving in a way that she feels is best for , not only herself but all abuse survivors.

I'd normally feel terrible about speaking out and saying anything negative especially about a survivor of childhood abuse but Lisa appears to have no problem with her words and actions. As Lisa has so much self love, I feel I can actually say what I've come to believe about , not only Lisa , but so many people who claim childhood abuse and " sell Thier Story "

Lisa the end DOES NOT justify the actions and abusive behaviour YOU employ to achieve your aims of your self love , sadly in the end this make you look shallow and abusive and simply money hungry NOT abundant or healed .. Some people may find her work helpful I wish I had and I feel sad that I can't find anything kind to say about the author of this book who I so wished delivered in helping others not simply belittling people to achieve her truth and aims , sadly I have lost too much due to abuse , time and time again , to say LISAS work is helpful or even ethical in any way. People die as a result of abuse Lisa it isn't , as you seem to think , some type of game ..I apologize for being so unkind but people need to be informed about the tactics Lisa advocates before reading or , indeed , buying This Book

Resilient people are much more likely to be happy with life and come back well from grief and set backs, according to research I have read
There are so few meditations or hypnosis I have found specifically on this topic so it has been very helpful for me after setbacks.
It's not perfect but it has been helpful for me personally and it isn't an expensive buy, I listen with earphones and binaural beats on a background app.

Good budget buy beginners hypnosis

Not always perfectly translated it is definitely a really useful tool for those who are beginning hypnosis and want an inexpensive buy that's not to long .
This hypnosis has been really useful on a personal level. A great tool for letting go of dysfunctional beliefs and behaviours.
If you have a little more to spend I'd recommend Glenn Roberts , if this is a extra buy and you don't want to spend much and don't have much time then these audios are great value and I've tried a few different ones from audible and else where you could do much , much worse.

Susan Calman is a well-known comedian and writer who has appeared on countless radio and television programmes. Her solo stand up show, Susan Calman Is Convicted, was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and dealt with subjects like the death penalty, appearance and depression. The reaction to the show she wrote about mental health was so positive that she wanted to expand on the show and write a more detailed account of surviving when you're the world's most negative person.

I like "get on Apps" for both the simplicity and length of the audio products. The "narrator" has a pleasant voice that one feels comfortable listening to for some time.
In several affirmation and hypnosis audios that I have purchased the " narrator " sounds like a condescending prep teacher or a robot, the English voice of "get on Apps" is easy listening.
if like me you are new to this "genre" and prefer not to listen for hours but would like to use this as a tool and make some changes this is the one I would recommend.
