I was in the OMGWACA Facebook group and absolutely loved the concept but I put off reading the book because, despite the enormously high praise and five star reviews, I (wrongly!) thought the book was just over egging the pudding a bit!
HOW wrong I was, this is Irishness personified.

I found myself literally laughing out and also welling up as parts and certain characters conjured up memories long since forgotten.

A real must read!

My step count has tripled because I couldn’t stop going for walks so I could listen in peace!

Fiona Barton is seriously talented and I’ve been waiting excitedly for this release! I certainly wasn’t let down.

The characters come alive, warts and all and part of you will wish you are a part of it all when things are good and shudder at how realistic the events actually are and how fragile sanity can be.
I was particularly fascinated by the cameo benzodiazepines made as the description of the downward spiral and reliance on them was all too real. Along with how socially acceptable and easy to get these little “helpers” have become.

I will miss Connie and Emma, Mental Sita and Annie’s diary entries!

Amazing book, wonderful narration! Highly recommend!

Honestly, if you’re reading this review-buy the book! It’s excellent and I’m on my second listen to it and have taken much away from my first time.
Though I really, *really* wish it could be edited to take out the constant reading out of the full website address or even change it to “you’ll find it on the website”. I’m really surprised this wasn’t picked up before it made it to the final stages, it’s really annoying particularly in audio.
On my second listen it’s beginning to get insufferable and I can’t help eye rolling each time even though the actual content is wonderful.

I should have researched a bit more, didn't think it would be so full of religious babble.

What an amazing book!
Hester is up there with Ove and Britt Marie as my favorite characters ever.

I binge listened and am excited to read more by this author.
I’d love a sequel about Hester!

This stands out as one of my favorite thrillers in a while, I literally couldn’t stop listening. It was quite dark, even for me, so I’ll definitely have to follow it up with something cheery but I’m really looking forward to reading more by B.A Paris!

This is the kind of book that you want to stand on the street and hand copies out to people because it really is so fantastic, relatable, cackle out loud funny, witty and sharp.

I love how this tackles issues that women face, hilarious as it is (and I really did throw my head back and cackle wildly-me, who can’t crack a grin watching stand up) I feel like it’s a real “must read” for so many more reasons than it being funny!

This book genuinely made me feel better and more uplifted about my own, often chaotic, life as a single mum. The wankwoman saga out so much in perspective for me and it was a nice barometer “well this part of my life is falling apart, and this part, but if wankwoman can pull herself together so can I!”

I loved the strength of the characters and I loved how they were older than the unremarkably young characters in most books these days.

I’m very excited about what other gems Dawn O’Porter will produce!
