Part 3 of the Hunger Games trilogy did not quite live up to my expectations, there is no doubt it was as well written and just as well read, but the twists in the final few chapters just do not sit right with me.

I won't go into specifics as I dont want to spoil the story for potential readers but I came away feeling as if I had missed out a chapter along the way.

Overall the story was as gripping as the previous 2 books and I still rate it an excellent read, perhapse when I have more time I will re-read (listen to) the second part of this book again to see if I can get a better grip on the reasoning of our heroine.

A great second book

I started this book just as soon as I completed "The Hunger Games" this book is as compelling as the first so well written and narrated it captures you from the first line and holds you throughout, If I had to criticise something it would be the ending that somehow seemed rushed and came out of nothing that we were expecting.

As I have now started the 3rd book and some of the gaps are being filled in it makes sence but I think it might have been better to have added the first chapter of book 3 to the end of this book as that would have explained things better but that might just be a personal thing and should not put off anyone as this really is a very good story..

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

It was the publicity surrounding the release of the DVD that got me interested in listening to this book, What a great decision that was, the book is very well read and had me gripped from the moment it began.
I sped through the story in a couple of days, it was a truely captivating with the characters coming alive in the mind.
The story of poverty and oppression has been done before but this seemed so refreshing to have it done so well, I am really looking forward to the second and third books that I also have downloaded from Audible.
Today I watched the DVD and whilst it was enjoyable it did not do the book justice.
But this is a review of the book and as such it is a 5 star cracker of a story.

Good Story initially but Far Far too long winded.

This would have been pretty good as a short story, the first hour or so was pretty good as the story developed, after that it was just a never ending cycle of non stop sex with no story progression at all, sometimes the sex was real sometimes imagined or dreamed, but it was sex for sex sake and added nothing to the story progression.
It was pretty well read and did later return to story progression but by that time I had almost given up the desire to know what happened at the end, there were just too many developments that turn out to be nothing but dreams.
I debated between 2 and 3 stars and settled on 3 though now on reflection I think that might be too high.

I must admit that I am not greatly into the spanking scene, however I found these stories very, very entertaining, they were very well read and my only criticism is there should have been more of them.
I will certainly look for more by the same authors.
