Frances Brody writes very enjoyable books the plot is just different enough to keep one reading on. Kate Shackleton is made interesting but with many layers....FBs interpretation of the roles of both women and men in the post war era and late 1920s is realistic and it blends well with her stories. The added bonus is her knowledge of Yorkshire and the town's and cities within at that period in time..

I am a fan of Ian Rankin and Rebus but would this was a predictable story in some respects so a bit plodding...that said as usual well written and well read.

Great story well performed. Nadia May has a marvellous range of voices and at times hard to believe there were not a cast of character taking each part.
