I’ll give it a whirl I thought. Being of that era and liking most of the bands, I was interested. But...she started singing every song she mentioned! Did someone tell her she could sing? I wish someone had told her the truth!

I read this book years ago and vowed I would read it again. I devour everything that The King of Words write. Many years later and many more words read by the King, my eyesight unfortunately has begun to fade. However, I discovered the joy of audio books! And I rediscovered IT. Steven Weber I thank you gratefully for the fantastic narration of a well loved book of mine. You were amazing! I found I was literally holding my breath at times! Not such a good idea for someone with heart problems but I loved every minute of being scared to death! Thank you Stephen and thank you Steven.

What a fabulous book! Made all the better by Julia Barrie's narrative. She is excellent at switching from female to male voices and makes you feel you are truly listening to a male narrator.

The story was about three generations of a family and I felt the trials and tribulations of each one. I didn't want it to end but end it did and left me feeling satisfied. Thank you for a wonderful story Lucinda and Julia for the fabulous narration.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Darkening Hour to be better than the print version?

Yes. The narration gives the characters life. Adjoa and Anne were perfect voices for Theodora and Mona. Also the men's voices were believable too.

What did you like best about this story?

The description of the statues and river were, to me as a Londoner, spot on. I actually felt very cold in parts of the descriptive narration of the river.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

I really can't pick one but Mona's seeing snow for the first time stands out.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me feel sad for the fact that the plight of migrant workers is unfortunately, not fiction.

Any additional comments?

Curl up somewhere warm and comfortable and enjoy.

Brilliant story. Great narration. And a twist so clever that I had to keep going back but the clues were there! Read/listen and enjoy.
