The narrator of this series of audio books is exceptionally good, at times I forgot it was just one persons voice. The story was weaker than others in this series but still worth listening to. I found the main characters in this book interesting and believable and I loved the relationship between DC Wolfe and his daughter.

This book was not very credible, the plot was plodding and I could not sustain any belief in the characters. There was also agonisingly long pauses between the chapters that constantly had me checking to see if my device had lost the connection. The narration was slow and monotonous and I found my self loosing concentration .
The end was equally predictable.

At what point does criminal activity threaten national security? When can a nation respond to it as to an enemy? These are the questions Jack Ryan must consider when he hears the awful news: Colombian drug lords, tired of being harassed by US law enforcement agents, have assassinated three high American officials, and that is just the beginning. The message is clear: Leave us alone. But they have pushed too far. Someone steps quietly over the line they have drawn, deploying covert-action teams in Colombia, intending to take the fight to the enemy.

What a great book, well written and so well performed. Much better than the televised version of this book. A word of warning though, be careful if listening to it on anything but headphones, choose the location wisely, lots of loud harsh swearing.
Enjoyed the book so much I’m going to download the others in this series.

Very disappointed with this book, certainly not up to Peter James’s usual standard. The plot was stale and hackneyed. The whole novel felt like it had been reduced in size and was without the usual multi layered story lines this author produces. It seemed to contain just one idea, ended very suddenly and left things unanswered. All flash but no bang!

Story was very engaging, kept me guessing as to who did it.
My only dislike was the constant Twitter references and if I had been reading this book I would have skipped these pages.
The actors reading the story were superb.
