For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Only at chapter 10 but I couldn't wait any longer. first introduced to DG via Joe Rogans podcast, and since then I've been really interested in his story, and more importantly his mindset. We can all achieve this ... but we need to step off the marshmallow clouds, and be honest with ourselfs. You need to want change for more than just motivational sake, you need to want it because you deserve it. DG, Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson have become father figures for me. Thank you DG for sharing your insight.

This is the age of addiction, a condition so epidemic, so all encompassing and ubiquitous, that unless you are fortunate enough to be an extreme case, you probably don't know that you have it. What unhealthy habits and attachments are holding your life together? Are you unconsciously dependent on food? Bad relationships? A job that doesn't fulfill you? Numb, constant perusal of your phone, looking for what? My qualification for writing this book is not that I am better than you, it's that I am worse.

i have my own demons ive been working through after experiencing grief by losing two close family members, i became dettached from my own feelings and thought external pleasures would help. i found that i ended up very selfish and my anger at the world and life in general just ate away at me. Russell bares his soul in this book, ive never been a big of his ... but if anyone understands addiction its him. he understands the darkness and its written very well. On occassions he goes off the beaten track but id highly recommend this to anyone seeking internal guiduance.

Author talks passionately about experiences, and gives some good pointers on how she dealt with events and how saying YES pushed her out of the norm and into the unknown. I think the contents OK, interesting but i just wasnt blown away by it. I read a lot of self help books .
