In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

Loved the narration... clear intonation with good pace. Honest and frank insight given during narration. Hard to put this down... listened all day whenever possible. Finished over two days and have recommended to my 16 year old daughter.

For two years, England has been in the grip of Civil War. In Banbury, Oxfordshire, the Cavaliers hold the castle, the Roundheads want it back and the town is full of zealous Puritans. Consequently, the gulf between Captain Justin Ambrose and Abigail Radford, the sister of a fanatically religious shopkeeper, ought to be unbridgeable. The key to both the fate of the castle and that of Justin and Abigail lies in defiance...but will it be enough?

I loved this book so much I listened again. A good historical recollection of the times. I enjoyed finding out things related to the residents of Banbury all those years ago.

I experienced many emotions while reading this. Anger, love, sadness, hope and happiness. Tina's story is heart wrenching but in the end she managed to find a man she could trust... who really loved her.

Enjoyed the narration.

Moments after Lisbeth is born, she’s taken from her mother and handed over to an enslaved wet nurse, Mattie, a young mother separated from her own infant son in order to care for her tiny charge. Thus begins an intense relationship that will shape both of their lives for decades to come. Though Lisbeth leads a life of privilege, she finds nothing but loneliness in the company of her overwhelmed mother and her distant, slave-owning father.

Couldn't stop listening!! The narrator's differentiation between the characters and attempts to show their emotions was good. Cried from chapter 23 to the end. A good ending, however, the story demonstrated the reality of what things must have been like for the two main characters during that time.
