You will be belittled, trolled and pretty much have your intelligence insulted the entire way through this comedic masterpiece. Jackson Blackwell doesn't just break the fourth wall, he will reach out of your speakers and slap you about the face whilst telling you how stupid you are for buying the book!

The Shadow Master, not only trolls monsters, gods, demons, entire pop culture genres, nerds, you the listener, he also instigates direct confrontation with his own narrator!

I personally found this great, even with the twist, you can't be mad! Looking forward to the next one!

But while the humans rally to contain the fallout of this disaster, they are much quicker to pin the blame for it on their elven neighbors to the north. Rosie Strange doesn't believe in ghosts or witches or magic. It's no surprise therefore that when she inherits the ramshackle Essex Witch Museum, her first thought is to take the money and run. Still, the museum exerts a curious pull over Rosie. There's the eccentric academic who bustles in to demand she help in a hunt for the bones of the notorious Ursula Cadence, a witch long since put to death. And there's curator Sam Stone, a man about whom Rosie can't decide if he's tiresomely annoying or extremely captivating.

if you are expecting something akin to rivers of London don't bother. However as a much gentler style of story with a more relaxed overall atmosphere, very enjoyable and easy to listen to, with a fairly decent finale. overall it's not bad and the narrator doesn't have a grating voice, and adds to the characters well.
