I have listened to quite a few books from this author and enjoyed them. This title however has to be one of the most boring books I have ever listened to. Gave up on it half way through as I was finding it a chore to carry on. Boring, boring, boring.

Really enjoyed listening to the book, keep me interested right to the end. Personally I really liked the ending, get a feeling some might not.I don't normally write reviews but was shamed into it by the authors grovelling at the end lol

I love the department Q books but for me, this book was seriously let down by the choice of narrator. Don't know why Jussi has gone with a different narrator from the previous books but not a good choice. I won't be listening to any future department Q books if Graeme Malcolm is going to be the narrator. Bring back Steven Pacey.

I returned this book after listening for the first hour. It was pretty boring but the one thing I could not get on with was the narrator. This book is set in Glasgow (the place of my birth) so why oh why use a narrator from the Republic of Ireland trying to do a Glasgow accent and ending up sounding like a very bad northern Irish accent. The characters in the book are all Glaswegian. I just could not get past this, so although the actual story may have improved with time I could not listen to any more.

Would you try another book written by Kerry Wilkinson or narrated by Nigel Patterson?

Got to be one of the worst, most boring books I have had the misfortune of listening to. Paid 99p for this in the Daily Deal and that was 99p too much.

Has Something Wicked put you off other books in this genre?

No

Would you be willing to try another one of Nigel Patterson’s performances?

Never

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Something Wicked?

95% of the story.

I am a big fan fan of Agatha Christie and had never read this book. What a disappointment. I found it to be very slow and very boring and very very predictable.
