Love her 2 books but found her own narration of this one far from entertaining. Her delivery is too fast a gabbled pace and I would kindly suggest she continues her wonderful writing but finds a narrator.

A totally absorbing read beautifully narrated.
The time frame of the story moves from different periods which all make perfect sense in a very satisfying way.
Will definitely be looking for any future works by this author and highly recommend her.

Did not care about the character and found it all too long winded. Also quickly realised that it was another drama detailing various levels of abuse against a female character. Stuck with it but should have returned.

This was the best of the 3 books to date in the series, though one needs the other 2 first for context and all good. Anton Lesser is a SUPERB actor/reader and his performance brings a great story to full splendor.

This is a superb book that slowly but surely draws one into the lives of, predominately, two children affected by the turmoil of war.
I found the writing , the imagary and emotions of a very high standard. Hours of absorption.

found the first half very enjoyable but the last half was repetitive and could have done with some rigor of editing as it was rather repetitive still ok
