On the one hand, if Essie hadn't written that letter - the one that only her best friend was meant to see - then she'd still be living like an actual proper grown-up, tucked up with Paul in his picture-perfect cottage, maybe even planning their wedding.... On the other hand (if her true feelings hadn't accidentally taken the Internet by storm, that is), she never would have met Zillah and Conor - not to mention Lucas. And she'd never have found out just how much life there is to be lived....

Romantic novel of the year 2010. When the abandoned strays from a local dogs' home are matched with brand new owners, it turns out it might not be just the dogs who need rescuing. Rachel's aunt has left her a house, a border collie and, despite Rachel knowing nothing about dogs, a crowded kennel. But since her life has collapsed, she's not sure she can deal with any more lost souls.

When story-lover Anna takes over Longhampton's bookshop, it's her dream come true. And not just because it gets her away from her three rowdy stepchildren and their hyperactive dalmatian. Unpacking boxes filled with childhood classics, Anna can't shake the feeling that maybe her own fairy-tale ending isn't all that she'd hoped for.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Secret of Happy Ever After to be better than the print version?

This is the perfect summer read and Lucy Price-Lewis narration really brought it to life. The story was dynamic and really kept you gripped. I loved the constant flux of characters that were expertly interwoven and highly entertaining.

Have you listened to any of Lucy Price-Lewis’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Lucy Price-Lewis is a personal favourite for me when it comes to narration. She never disappoints.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Turning it off and putting it down to go back to life in general was hard.
