It’s easy to think we know all these is to know about the 3rd queen Jane Seymour, that she was the pale quiet antidote to the firey passionate intoxicating Anne Boleyn, but in this lovely story we see the character emerge from that characterisation.

We see a principled, kind and loyal person, one who didn’t just exist as a foil for more dramatic people.

I came to adore the character and the end... oh my dear by the end I felt genuine sorrow.

This is on its surface is a story we all know but Weir takes hidden moments and paints them to life.

The last few minutes are especially vivid and breathtaking.

We take a dislikable protagonist and make her utterly compelling.

If you could sum up Six Tudor Queens: Katherine of Aragon, the True Queen in three words, what would they be?

Triumph and Tragedy. A brave courageous woman whose life slips continually from Victory to defeat in every footstep. A like-able woman who is trapped by circumstance in absolute misery.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Six Tudor Queens: Katherine of Aragon, the True Queen?

Her final vindication, and her crushing realisation that even this will not save her.

Which character – as performed by Maggie Mash – was your favourite?

Maria De Salinas was narrated beautifully by Maggie Mash

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

What did you like best about White Teeth? What did you like least?

I did enjoy a less chocolate box presentation of my home country and i instantly found things that i recognized.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting thing was the fact that both the school and the Chalfen family make huge bounding assumptions about Jones and Iqbal families, assuming that the parenting is poor and unfeeling because of economic status and from ethnic minority groups, but they themselves ignore their own dysfunction.
Embarrassing their children, causing problems between Irie & Millat and their parents, then assuming that the dysfuction can be placed on their ethnic roots. They fail to see this but are geneticists and pride themselves on erudition.

How could the performance have been better?

The Narrator, the West Indian accents were butchered, i wish they hadn't been attempted. the South Asian accents were slightly better. All in all it was ok, if a little distracting

If this book were a film would you go see it?

Red Rose, White Rose was a sweet unassuming listen, it painted the picture of a neglected figure in a very important dynamic time. It's very nice

This exceeded all expectation. An exceptional murder mystery in a historical setting. Prioress and monk are taking shelter in a household when a murder is committed, thanks to the obsequious sheriff the assailant is taken in, or maybe perhaps not...

What did you like most about Clare in the Community?

This is so endearing and cute. The characters are all sweet and very funny, I never ever feel like i'm bored or not being entertained. It's narrative so there is a story to follow and You do feel like these characters are being followed around by the proverbial fly on the wall.

What did you like best about this story?

The delightful menage-a-trois between Clare, Brian and Megan, that only exists for one or perhaps 2 of the characters. Helen's promiscuity and laziness.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This is one of the best performances
