Bryan Stevenson was a young lawyer when he founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal practice dedicated to defending those most desperate and in need: the poor, the wrongly condemned, and women and children trapped in the farthest reaches of our criminal justice system. One of his first cases was that of Walter McMillian, a young man who was sentenced to die for a notorious murder he insisted he didn’t commit.

Just Mercy; a story of Justice and Redemption is life changing! Bryan Stevenson is a man full of love, compassion and empathy! This book was written and read by the man himself; a man that cares beyond all reasonable doubt!

This book made me cry, laugh and reflect greatly on life and the appalling justice system of America! It’s shocking, horrifying and terribly disturbing for if one is black, poor and innocent you don’t stand a chance unless you have Mr Stevenson and his team on your side. The injustices are horrendous and I found myself cheering when I heard cases that had been fought and the innocent released from life on death row. I cried when Walter passed over and my heart has gone out to all these people & their loved ones. I can’t find the words when I heard of the children being incarcerated, raped and their lives lost.

It’s interesting watching and listening to how America ( not all Americans) behave and point the finger at other countries for the miss justice and cruelty they put on their own people but America needs to remember when you point your finger, there are always three pointing back at you!

Mr Stevenson deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his lives work. God bless you Sir. Thank you for a life changing experience. Please work to let other countries know what is happening because we don’t hear this horror in the Uk. We can all work together to help make changes and put pressure on your very unjust prison system.

Please get this book; you will learn far more than you bargained for!

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a murder mystery novel like no other. The detective, and narrator, is Christopher Boone. Christopher is fifteen and has Asperger's, a form of autism. He knows a very great deal about maths and very little about human beings. He loves lists, patterns, and the truth.

This really is a brilliantly written book! The young man that narrates is fantastic! I have read this book but the audio version is far better in my opinion due to the young performer.

It’s a funny and emotional story of family life and how Autism affects everyone in different ways. Personally, I love this story and will definitely listen again and again!

Thank you 🙏

Despite believing he was bionic as a child, Ira Rainey was far from an elite athlete with superhuman running abilities like the ones he read about in books. He was in fact an overweight and unfit slacker who felt a bit sorry for himself because he had sore feet. Sure he ran a bit, but he also sat around a lot and ate and drank too much. Why? Because he could, and because he was a delusional optimist who thought everything would always be just fine.
