It started with a phone call. Just one word - ‘Jessica’ - and now Detective Inspector Jessica Daniel has a big problem. Her missing friend, Bex, called from a battered seaside payphone, and yet, by the time Jessica arrived, there was nobody there. One man claims he can help - but then he turns up on a beach stabbed to death. Jessica believes someone must be framing her. Someone who is always a step ahead. When she finds a boy whose tattoo matches Bex's, she becomes more desperate than ever for answers.

Jessica Daniel is back with another breathtaking tale of crime and yet again she finds herself right in the middle and up to her eyeballs in trouble. I highly recommend this book to fans of Jessica Daniel and first-timers alike, although be prepared to become addicted if you haven't read any Jessica books before. I'm already keenly anticipating Book 14!!!!

Detective Miles Jensen is called to the lawless town of Santa Mondega to investigate a spate of murders. This would all be quite ordinary in those rough streets, except that Jensen is the Chief Detective of Supernatural Investigations. The breakneck plot centres around a mysterious blue stone, 'The Eye of the Moon', and the men (and women) who all want to get their hands on it: a mass murderer with a drink problem, a hit man who thinks he's Elvis and a pair of monks among them.

This book was recommended to me by a friend, and initially I wasn't sure whether I was going to like it. However, I persevered and boy am I glad I did. It was a brilliant story with twists and turns throughout. The characters would have ordinarily been unbelievable, however in the context of this book they were pervect. The only other thing that I can say is try it for yourself ... persevere and you won't be disappointed

I was recommended this book by a friend, and although uncertain whether it was my type of read, I quickly became engrossed. The story is believable, the characters are realistic and the situations they find themselves in are horrific. I understand that humans can very easily revert to cruel and basic behaviour but the way Victor Method has written this book confirms how badly this can happen. Brilliant book ... Extremely well written ... Can't wait to start on the next one

Currently suspended from the force for misconduct, Josie takes matters into her own hands as the name leads her to evidence linking the two girls.

Thought this book was excellent. It was basically a cruel story which with skill pulls the reader into the twists and turns on a race to the crashing finish

I have to disagree with the reviewer who thought there was too much swearing .. it was little and appropriate and I have seen and heard much more on TV.

Highly recommend this book.

For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

I really loved this book. The story was first class, the characters were strong and brave and the narration was excellent (definitely the right person for this book.

Read this book you certainly will not be disappointed.

I am sure we would all like to think that civilisation would be maintained if the power went off.. this book confirms to the reader that it's highly unlikely to be the case.

The story flows well as the characters travel from one disaster to another. I really liked the narration which matched the story so well.

I read this book almost in one sitting, such was the quality of the book. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending this book to anyone 😁

I am not usually one for zombie stories because i have always thought of them as an excuse for gratuitous violence. This book certainly has a high level of violence but the story is a real rollercoaster which keeps the reader on tenterhooks. I had bought the Omnibus edition of Books 1-3 which kept me fixed for a large part of the series

I really recommend this book even if, like me, it's not a genre you would usually choose.

Anyway .. can't stop .. off to buy Book 4 😁
