Hulking ex-rugby player Spencer Carlisle has crushed on Daffodil McGregor since high school. On the field he knew the moves. Off, he was a clueless clod who never gained an advantage. Rejected and rebuffed, his infatuation finally cooled - like ice. Now, it’s impossible not to feel the chill - since he’s the best man and she’s the maid of honor at their siblings’ wedding. For the sake of harmony, they’re calling a truce. Daff has her reasons for being a cynic when it comes to romance. And twice as many for not letting on that she finds Spencer attractive.

Introverted Daisy McGregor is used to being a wallflower, but what she lacks in style, she makes up for with an acerbic wit, a passion for life, and a deep devotion to her family. So she'll suffer through her sister Dahlia's bachelorette party and accept the cloud of pity for going stag to the wedding. Out at the pub, sexy bad boy Mason Carlisle is a reluctant wingman tasked with entertaining Daisy while his brother flirts with her oldest sister, Daffodil. When the plan fails and Mason's true intent is revealed, he feels intense guilt - and a sensual spark of desire.

Yeah yeah I get it she's conflicted, but the story keeps rehashing the same history and feelings. Seriously it was the first 3 chapters on repeat, however, well written.
I love Sebastian's narration, Tracey less so, just same phrasing which didn't help with the repetitive pattern of the book.
Cliffhanger yes but don't want to go through the female drama in another book. some say it's dark, but it played at dark, nothing challenging more, sinister Cinderella. This had great reviews but not for me.

I've waited years for my drop-dead sexy boss, Tristan Hunter, to notice me as something other than his right-hand gal. But though his dog is deeply in love with me, Tristan and I seem doomed to the friend zone. Until the night we kiss... It's all a ruse, of course - our make-out session is for the benefit of the two heartbreakers who dumped us - but very real sparks fly when his lips meet mine. At least...they're real for me.

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville - at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade ring in my ears every time a towns-person brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again. Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons - sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer.

Rated low - as I struggle with Maxine Mitchell s narration style. I have never liked it, although a lot of people do. she intones uplifts the end of each word or sentence consistently.
However the story still deserves to be listened to and Joe Ardens delivery was great.
Beautiful story of overcoming abuse and the process therein.

Matthew Hansen is the kind of handsome that has grown women whispering behind their hands and giggling like schoolgirls. Dark, tall and mysterious, he's a newcomer to our little town. He's a gritty, grease-covered mechanic, and a single daddy. Sweet, right? Plus, he's looking for a nanny - and I am desperately looking for a job. Sounds like the perfect deal. Only he's a jerk. An uncivilized, hulking brute. Zero manners. Zero interest in making me feel welcome in his home. Downright rude. But oh, so sexy. And I need the job. I can do this.

Again I struggled with the narration, specifically the gasping of the female lead every third sentence, or do it seemed; the guy was ok monotone but fit with the depressed character really well, so well cast in that respect.
Storyline underwhelming as so predictable, but quite saucy in parts.

Jackson "The Beast" Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick's New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fundraiser, Bianca can't refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother's medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum - money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract - and a stunning ring.

Great accents, very well narrated. I love Sebastian Yorks voice but he does so many books very well that you can get used to it (and I tend not to like his co-narrators), Diana Luke's delivery was so good it made it refreshing to listen to Sebastian again.
Fab story, although still fits with the usual rubric of romance novels -it was a fresh take.
Very enjoyable.
