yes, you have seen it all before, done it all before, and generally been there and done everything; however, do you know why you did it? Dan Ariely would say probably not.

The only time I’ve ever been able to say this...

Watch the film.

It’s better.

I like Carl, and the ideas are great, but the delivery and filler is very very poor.

Still in the easy listening section. Good concepts, characters, storyline and performance but I just wish Dennis would go darker on his bad guys and inject a little more hero/heroin on the other.

If you really need to do it having listened to all the rest, then, make it so. But, it’s not the best. The story, which has already peaked in past books follows weak characters and a weaker plot.

Proof that plugging on with a story that is finished is not always the best way forward.

I’d liked this one and if you know the writer’s past works, then it is a safe bet you’ll like this one too.

Enjoy. I did.

I did like this story and the style is very much an epic sci-fi. Still, I can’t help thinking that it lacked the pace of a good page turner.

A lot of people have borrowed heavily from this book over the years so it’s very good reading if you are a writer. If not, then try the Night’s Dawn Trilogy instead of this.

I really had to try hard to get to the end of this one. There is clearly more to the story than this novel tells, so let's just say that this is very much a part one.... of god knows how many??? In my eyes there is not enough story here to be worthy of one publication. Maybe when the rest is complete I'd change my opinion if they bundled them.

To be fair the writing of the male part was ok, but the female part was at best totally cringe worthy.

The science was also, well, unrewarding.
