I enjoyed it, apart from the last chapter which got a bit too mawkish for my English taste...but apart from that ... a fast moving thriller which kept me gripped.

The book kept my interest throughout...it was well-written and the cause of my not pruning my bushes. The characters are believable and I did want to shake Andrea...but then I am a feminist.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Overall enjoyable...although I feel it would have been easier to follow if filmed. Lost track a few times and had to go back. Not sure I would recommend it to a friend.

I am a fan of Alfred Molina and he was well-cast....the steady unflappable man.

Where does FREE FIRST HOUR: The Child rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the top.....followed up to read whole novel.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Robert Stern......the damaged man.......closed up.....who eventually opens up by helping the child and restarting his re'ship with Emilia Fox character.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The dropping of the head on to Robert's lap in the dark tunnel......spooky....whetted my appetite.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was but I did it in three.

Exciting right from the start....beautifully written and read......plot unwound gradually....never a boring moment.....loved it......Mo.......Author

What does Julian Rhind-Tutt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He read the story extremely well....especially his Poirot voice....sounded just like David Suchet. His delivery was effortless and his changes from voice to voice...superb.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Agatha Christie would be proud of this writer. Superlative plotting and a defy anyone to guess the outcome.

It is a good story.....well plotted....used correct language for the period....very important. JRT read it extremely well.....nothing else to say! Thank you Audible.

If you could sum up Clean Cut in three words, what would they be?

Fast-moving, gripping, well-written.Lynda La Plante always writes a good story and Anna Travis is a totally believable heroine. I like Kim Hicks' rendition - even her male voices are good.

Always sure of a good read with Lynda. I put her stories on my I-pod so I can listen whilst on the "Dreadmill" ......more exciting it gets, the faster I run!

A writer myself, so I appreciate a well-crafted plot in good English.

What did you like most about Cross and Burn?

I always like this author's style. Beautifully written - unputdownable. Psychological and physical plots well devised and delivered in her usual manner. Enjoyed it very much. As an Eng Lit tutor (retired) I appreciate well-written novels.

What other book might you compare Cross and Burn to, and why?

All her other Tony Hill books. All well written and exciting.
