Entertaining, lightweight but with some lovely turns of phrase and descriptions. Good narration too, will certainly look out for other books by writer and reader. Would recommend.

I was so looking forward to this having enjoyed the Sydney Grice stories. But this does not compare in any way. All the characters are ridiculously eccentric , so extreme I could not suspend my disbelief to find them in any way credible. The plot was so confused that when I fell asleep while listening I didn't bother to backtrack and didn't miss the gaps . I felt no sympathy with any one, they could all have been vampired to death with my good wishes. This will be returned.

Slow, monotonous, turgid and dull. All the voices sounded the same. So bad I struggled through the first few chapters then skipped to the last ones. It was a huge relief to hear "The end". I resent even that amount of my time wasted on such irritating, contrived mish mash of a supposed investigation. This one will be returned.

I have loved the book , re-reading it occasionally and the audible version did not disappoint. Alex Jennings read it superbly, with convincing voices that enhanced the story.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the music. Why? What was that all about? It was so annoying and unnecessary , please Audible, don't.

I was so looking forward to this book as the combination of mystery, literature and history were my area. But it was so long and rambling, I skipped a big chunk of the Middle and jumped to the last 6 chapters. This worked fine, I didn't miss the rest at all! The narration was excellent, I would certainly listen to her readings again.

I loved reading the first book in the trilogy, and still think Robin Hobb a good author. While the story here is inventive and I was looking forward to listening to this one, it was spoiled by the narration. Is this meant to be an English accent? Incompetent voice coach if it is. I would have given no stars if possible. I shall get the third book from the library and read it, far more satisfying to give the characters voices n my own head.

I loved The Rosie Project so much and was looking forward to a sequel. What a shame this is . The writer seems to have overworked the scenarios with an end result of complicated confusions and a rushed, simplistic resolution. If I had been reading a book, there would have been a lot of skipped pages. Not one I will listen to again.

Witty, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable!

As usual, another brilliant view of life Terry style, I just love his books. It is such a shame there will be no more to look forward to. Would recommend to everyone, read it or listen to it!
