I enjoyed this book in print many years ago, and it works well as an audio book. I normally find American delivery too jarring, but this narrator is pleasant to listen to and i soon just became absorbed in the drama. For me this story hits all the right spots.

extremely well written, transporting the listener to small town Australia. it works incredibly well as an audiobook as the narrator is word perfect. The plot twists and turns, and every character feels real. I was not sure at first, but so glad I kept going, definitely worth a credit !

The narrator is normally one I avoid, his delivery this time is not too bad, but pretty bland. The story is interesting, its written in historical present style, which is not to my taste, but I really wanted to know what was going to happen, so it didn't grate too much. There are some exciting moments which the narrator reads with such a dismissive tone it has all the impact of a shopping list. Maybe to give it a fair crack reading would be better than listening

Why get a man to narrate a story which is 95 percent a womans tale. It would surely only add slightly to the cost and editing time, to have a woman narrator for the majority of the book, with a male narrator for Tom Douglas parts. I feel its unfair to wholly blame the narrator, someone should have given him better direction, and advised him to read it straight.

Highly recommended, hit the spot for a great audio crime listen. I listen to audio books virtually every day while I work, this was the best for a while. Looking forward to trying others by this author.

I really wanted to listen to this book as the story looked like a good adventure. However the narrator is dreadful, every line is delivered to a pattern that repeats over and over with his voice rising on every fourth word or so. He made the action sequences sound like a shopping list read by an air steward giving out safety advice

This audio book is one of the best I've listened to so far, it's more like a radio drama in the way it's presented.

Such a good book, thoroughly recommended.
Have had a bad run lately as so many audio books are badly narrated and not up to scratch.

One of the best audio books I've listened to.
