Even the best laid plans have a habit of unravelling - and no plan at all is a recipe for disaster. When two Christmasses collide, it looks like it's going to be anything but goodwill toward men.

A thoroughly engrossing account of the hassle of preparing for Christmas which interweaves the story of two women, Beth and Carol, as they both seek to make Christmas wonderful for those they love. A story full of warmth; mixing poignancy and happiness together into a marvellous climax.

This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, a librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36, and were married when Clare was 22 and Henry 30. Impossible but true, because Henry has Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his past, present, and future.

I found this book totally captivating once I had become used to the format. Claire and Henry were very believable and well performed by the two readers. Much of the subject matter and language is adult and may not be acceptable to everyone.
