The perfect combination of history, economics and salient examples to reveal why nations fail. The content is mind blowing, covering the necessities for nation success and the causes of failure with historical examples to support his thesis. Completely debuncts guns germs and steel which alleges the cause of nation failure is due to geography. The information the author provides to support his thesis, including all the important historical events of many countries, makes it irrefutable. If you enjoy history, politics, economics or global affairs this book is essential. However as I stated in the title this book should be read by everyone. Once you finish why nations fail you will think why don't I know all of this. Some of it you will know however the whole of history throughout the ages is examined where necessary to support his thesis in a way that reveals what the totum of history is telling us. I listened to it 3 times in a row

Until this book I was easily duped into what I heard or read. This includes what I thought was well researched studies and journalism. This book cannot be more highly recommended in an age of fake news which is easily graphed or worded in a suggestive and believable manner even to the most sceptic and scrupulous indiciduals. If you want to think clearly and know the way stats and information is altered to induce credulity then this book is a must read. It is one of the best listens in a large repotoire

Enthralling from start to finish. The first audiobook I could listen to from go to wo without banality. By the end of this book you will understand surgical history and terminology and principles in an enjoyably way with famous historical examples which adds joy including Houdini and Jfk and Louis 14th and Abraham and pope John Paul and a plethora of others. This book deserves 20 stars since the content keeps you interested. The most difficult part of an audiobook is remaining interested in the subject and this book of history plus famous individuals melded with surgery is second to none. This will not disappoint

There is no better book on physics which relates the complex phenomena of everyday life to the principles of physics. Essential for those who expect to know how physics effects their life from tea and toast to weather and the environment. Inexplicably perfect.

Few people can articulate the truth like Thomas Sowell. His justification that man cannot redress the inherent disparities of life is irrefutable. A must read.
