I love Louise Hay but I'm giving four stars because the music is too loud and the organ is harsh on your ears. It would be so much better without the music.

I thought this audio book was going to be about how to love yourself and treat yourself like a goddess, but it's a long drawn out and badly written account of the author's life. Not the least bit interesting or helpful. Disappointing.

I returned it because I didn't find it interesting or helpful. It's one of those audio books that talks about what it's going to do but never actually does anything. You wait and wait for the book to start but it never does. Also, the narrator has a really boring way of speaking.

It helped me to understand myself and accept some of the things that have happened to me in my life.

A compilation of funny, irreverently reverent stories on aligning with the Divine in daily life. For the passionately spiritual and bemusedly skeptical alike. Adapted from a popular column originally published as "San Francisco's Spiritual Examiner" at examiner.com. "What if God IS the story? What if the Divine is constantly igniting roadside flares to get our attention? What if there actually IS a Supreme Organizing Principle with a ribald and unbridled sense of humor? And what if we each have this ardent inner suitor who's writing us love letters every day that often go unopened?"

Not what I was expecting

Overall

I thought it was okay but not great. I didn't find it worth listening to a second time or keeping in my library. I think part of the problem was that it wasn't what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a book about spirituality; instead it's a person reading out a series of articles they had once written, and it gets kind of repetitive.

I love Louise but this was so boring. I struggled to get through to the end.

And it has nothing to do with the title of "Embracing Change". It is just Louise talking generally about her beliefs (and rehashing old material).

And I can't believe that out of all the talks she has given this one was chosen to make an audio book. Weird.

Life can be relentless, frantic and exhausting - but it doesn’t have to be this way. This is an introduction to Mindfulness, which reveals a set of simple yet powerful practices that you can incorporate into daily life to help break the cycle of anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion. Mindfulness is based on mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), which is recommended by the UK’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence and is as effective as drugs for preventing depression.

I really enjoyed it. One of the best audio books I have bought. I've been following the program and I'm finding it very helpful in managing (reducing) my symptoms of severe depression and anxiety. The narrator has a kind and pleasant voice and the meditations are effective. I only wish it was the full, unabridged audio book. Highly recommended for anyone who has depression or anxiety.
