Sequel to the extraordinary The Name of the Wind, The Wise Man’s Fear is the second instalment of this superb fantasy trilogy from Patrick Rothfuss. This is the most exciting fantasy series since George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire and a must for all fans of HBO's Game of Thrones.

Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles is on par with Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and JK Rowling’s Harry Potter. The large number of different directions and plots the ‘The Name of the Wind’ covers is dramatically expanded in ‘The Wise Man's Fear’. The world that Patrick Rothfuss has created around the life and tales of the central character Kvothe is incredible and the way the story is link as if a biography is inspirational. These are audio books that I will be listening to again and again; the books are incredibly well crafted, with fantastic audio book narration. I highly recommend them.

My name is Peter Grant, and until January, I was just probationary constable in that mighty army for justice known to all right-thinking people as the Metropolitan Police Service (and as the Filth to everybody else). My only concerns in life were how to avoid a transfer to the Case Progression Unit - we do paperwork so real coppers don't have to - and finding a way to climb into the panties of the outrageously perky WPC Leslie May. Then one night, in pursuance of a murder inquiry, I tried to take a witness statement from someone who was dead but disturbingly voluble....

A fantasy thriller with bags of attitude, it?s very funny, imaginative and absorbing ? almost addictive. Totally refreshing in its detail, perspective and writing style. The story line of a believable supernatural underworld in London is based on a mixture of magic, police procedurals and human relationships. This looks like a start to a very promising series, I really am looking forward to the next book.

I am glad I got this book; the story has some interesting plots based around variations of on King Arthur type stories. Simply a good story to have in my collections of audio books, I am looking forward to others books in this series.
