I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the university at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep. My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me.

There are plenty of reviews on Patrick Rothfuss King Killer Chronicles, I am limiting this one to the audio narration as I feel it needs comment.

In my opinion, the narrator does a very poor job and drags the story down. In terms of performance, there is a wide range of expression, and thought has gone into the accents and making characters sound difference. Sadly, the performer forgot the basics. The diction is awful and worsened by some of the accents, ends of words trail off constantly. I find myself having to constantly adjust the volume to hear what is being read. There is a lot of mumbling, it's a real shame. Just a few minor improvements in diction would put this where it should be.

I brought this audio book after really enjoying Nick Poedhels narration of Cephraels hand. I enjoyed his voice regardless of the story.

The book itself is more like a narration of a dungeons and dragons game than a fantasy epic. The characters are unfortunately fairly typical, I didn't feel myself warming to them sadly.

The story revolves around a 17 year old in a 'magical school'. The world building and magic system are good and offer some interest but in terms of story it fell flat. The author tries desperately to draw the audience in with a number of twists, however they are so cliched that I was waiting for them to happen. I will probably buy the next part to pass the time driving to work. All in All, the story is ok, it just didn't wow me

In an era of hardening religious attitudes and explosive religious violence, this book offers a welcome antidote. Richard Holloway retells the entire history of religion - from the dawn of religious belief to the 21st century - with deepest respect and a keen commitment to accuracy. Writing for those with faith and those without, and especially for young listeners, he encourages curiosity and tolerance, accentuates nuance and mystery and calmly restores a sense of the value of faith.

This isn't really a stand alone book although there is plenty of recap from 'Final Empire'. Although the book mainly takes place in one location Brandon Sanderson does a great job of keeping you enthralled.

He continues to expand his universe and the magic within it. Fantastic performance by Michael Kramer.

I have to admit, I binge listened to the whole trilogy! I fell in love with the characters in 'Final Empire' and have watched them develop with interest.

My only complaint is the amount of recap in this book -though I concede it is probably necessary if reading it over a period of time.

Loved Michael Kramers reading. One to go back to time and again!

A dark lord rules through the aristocratic families, and ordinary folk are condemned to lives in servitude, sold as goods, labouring in the ash fields.
