I pulled up my knickers and arranged my dress again sobbing once more and trying to compose myself by wiping the tears away from under my eyes. As I turned around I saw what he had been arranging and on the desk were four bamboo wood canes. I wanted to turn and run but knew I had no choice but to accept my punishment for my missed homework.

If you like your spanking erotica to be written and read by a genuinely submissive, naughty girl, well it doesn’t get much better than this.

Ms Dancer writes a powerful, compelling narrative based on first-hand experience of receiving corporal punishment. As listeners, we are extremely fortunate to be able to enjoy her first-hand account of receiving a caning.

There is an awful lot of mediocre erotica out there – this stands out for being authentic and sexually highly charged.

It is expertly interpreted by Roy MacMillan, someone who has mastered his art and who entertains his extremely fortunate listeners.

“Bend over” - As I bent over I felt him wipe the dust onto the top of my bum cheeks. So humiliated by this my face was flushed the same color as my bottom. He wrapped his arm around me and gripped my body firmly in place as he once again smacked my already sore bottom. Hard and fast at the same time scolding me for not doing a good job cleaning up the dust. When he was finished I stood and he continued with his inspection.

I got to know Kate and dancer on Twitter. She is a delightful young woman, clearly taking her first steps into the world of Kink and sharing her story with photos and tweets about her life. She is a great writer and she has really brought this story to life for me. I hope to see more from her on audible.

So, this is me. Lily Allen. I am a woman. I am a mother. I was a wife. I drink. I have taken drugs. I have loved and been let down. I am a success and a failure. I am a songwriter. I am a singer. I am all these things and more. When women share their stories, loudly and clearly and honestly, things begin to change - for the better. This is my story.

In 1940, 18-year old Juliet Armstrong is reluctantly recruited into the world of espionage. Sent to an obscure department of MI5 tasked with monitoring the comings and goings of British Fascist sympathisers, she discovers the work to be by turns both tedious and terrifying. But after the war has ended, she presumes the events of those years have been relegated to the past for ever. Ten years later, now a producer at the BBC, Juliet is unexpectedly confronted by figures from her past. A different war is being fought now, on a different battleground, but Juliet finds herself once more under threat.

Kate Atkinson seldom fails to delight the reader (we can forgive her Emotionally Weird). Her writing is smooth yet complex and underpinned by an almost forensic interest in historical fact and littered with references to her predecessors, the great writers in the English language.

This is a must for readers who, like me, have a lasting admiration for the role and extreme bravery of the young women in the 1940s whose contribution to the war effort is too often understated.

From Annie Proulx, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Shipping News and Brokeback Mountain, comes her masterpiece, 10 years in the writing - an epic, dazzling, violent, magnificently dramatic novel about taming the wilderness and destroying the forest, set over three centuries. In the late 17th century, two illiterate woodsmen, Rene Sel and Charles Duquet, make their way from Northern France to New France to seek a living.
